Today you're getting the song that was the "hit" with the folk in the chatroom on last night's Just Some Punk Songs show. Comments included "Sounds
like The Buzzcocks!" "Whenever I'm in doubt about things I do" " If Hank Wood fronted The Buzzcocks" and "What a finale!!! Wonderful!!!" I like to finish the show with a winner and it's safe to say it was mission accomplished this week.
Forming in 2005 as school mates, C.O.F.F.I.N. (Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway) are a Sydney based "Psychotic Skate Punk & Aussie Pub Thrash band. Their line up is Ben Portnoy (lead vocals, drums, percussion), Abijah Rado (lead guitar, backing vocals), Arthur Flanders (guitars, backing vocals), Aaron Moss (guitars, backing vocals) and Laurence Adams (bass, backing vocals).
They released their first album, Under The Influence, in 2011 whilst still at high school. A couple of years later album number two, Spring Break At The Asylum surfaced. Their third, Piss-Up followed last year. They've done plenty of rowdy gigs down the years and shared a stage with such luminaries as Cosmic Psychos, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Frenzal Rhomb, The Hard Ons, Leftover Crack etc etc etc... You can get more info on them here : https://www.facebook.com/coffin.aus/
Last week they released a new 7". Titled Be Gone, it's available from Bargain Bin Records. All 3 tracks are great. First up is "hit single" Drug Baby (check out the video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylhH8dBFhAE). That's followed by an impressive cover of The Celibate Rifles' Back In The Red and then my pick of the bunch, Be Gone. Expect catchy raucous punk with plenty of riffs, expect one of the best releases of the year so far. Check it out...
Be Gone....
