It's Sunday which means it's the day of the week where I play an hour of new releases on the Just Some Punk Songs show (details
of today's show if anyone wants to listen : https://www.facebook.com/events/2381168171901637/). On today's show I'll be playing a (different) song from the one that's featured in this update by a new Canadian band.
Plasticheads are from Toronto and feature members of Flesh Rag, The Vapids, Career Suicide, Brutal Knights, Valley Boys, FLQ, Hassler, Reprobates and School Damage; Matthew Ellis (vocals/guitar), Jon Sharron (guitar/vocals), Erik Lovblom (bass) and Curtis Tone (drums).
A couple of weeks ago they released their debut album, Nowhere To Run. It's 10 blistering tracks of high octane punk tunage produced by Jimmy Vapid and available digitally here :
The lp version will be available soon from Ugly Pop Records.
Clocking in at under 20 minutes, the album is pedal to the metal from start to finish, the songs whizz past in a blur of furious drumming and buzzsaw guitars. No frills punk where brevity and speed are the order of the day. They remind me a little of the sorely missed Sharp Objects (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-e_qZGh6oo).
This is the title track, Nowhere To Run...
