It’s International Women’s Day on Friday and inspiring female leaders across various industries in Hong Kong are rallying to celebrate women’s achievements and female empowerment. Here are some of the best events happening around town. International Women’s Day At Old Bailey Toast to #GRLPWR at the stunning Tai Kwun bar, Old Bailey, this International Women’s Day as Hong Kong’s leading female bartenders and food and drinks critics take over the bar during happy hour for a good cause. The evening will also be a little preview to the newly launched Friday night happy hour, ‘Book Club’, at Old Bailey. All proceeds will benefit charity Playtao Foreverland, in support of its after-school programs for underprivileged children. Guest bartenders include Arlene Wong from The Pontiac, Michelle Ki from Chihuly Lounge, Singapore, and Yana Kamaruddin from Atlas, Singapore. The class includes a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blanc champagne, and all proceeds will be donated to The Women’s Foundation – a local non-profit that is focused on improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong.
